Honestly, the real Wan Chai district of Hong Kong Island has very little in common with its digital counterpart. Wan Chai is a very modern area, its urban picture is mainly painted with skyscrapers, towers, hotels and commercial buildings. It also features a lot of bars, pubs, clubs and strip clubs. Wan Chai is probably the most british influenced district of Hong Kong.
Wan Chai Public Ferry Pier and the sea, which connects Wan Chai and Kowloon.
Wan Chai Park, close to Queen’s Road.
I don’t know what the sign says, but hey, it has an old martial artist printed on it! Update: The sign says Morning Tai Chi Class, thanks wethemindthinkers!
Wan Chai at night, one more time.
Get some candy, will ya? Or some seaweed. Or something else …
Nice blog and pics! The martial artist picture says “Morning Tai Chi Class” ;)
Maybe Jianmin’s still around somehow…
Thanks a lot! Unfortunately, I didn’t meet him. But well, at least I went to the right place to find some Iron Palm masters ;)
